Rapper T.I. and his wife Tameka "Tiny" Harris are reportedly seeking to have a 2005 sexual assault lawsuit against them thrown out before their August 7th court date.

According to 'PEOPLE,' an Air Force veteran — who has remained unnamed — filed a lawsuit against the couple in January. She alleges that she met the pair in a club in 2005 before they took her back to their hotel room and sexually assaulted her. Jane Doe is seeking unspecified damages for "sexual battery, battery, sexual assault, negligence, false imprisonment, and intentional infliction of emotional distress," 'Complex' reports.

The married couple is seeking to dismiss the lawsuit on the grounds that the alleged night took place too long ago, according to court documents obtained by the outlet.

The legal team shared, "Here, at best, Plaintiff had up to December 31, 2007, to file the instant lawsuit based on the facts alleged in the Complaint. As such, this instant lawsuit, filed over sixteen years past that statutory deadline — 18 years after the facts alleged in the Complaint occurred is time-barred, along with all the claims asserted in the Complaint."

However, under the California Sexual Abuse and Cover Up Accountability Act, the assault in question would have until December 2026 to see its date in court.

The Air Force veteran accused the Xscape singer of taking her clothes before allegedly telling her to get in bed with her spouse, per 'PEOPLE.' She claims that during that alleged night she vomited and felt a feeling of light-headedness, leading her to believe that she had been drugged.

T.I., real name Clifford Joseph Harris Jr., and Harris, 48, have continually denied the allegations and are innocent until proven guilty.

"On the heels of positivity, negativity always rears its ugly head. This plaintiff has been threatening to file this lawsuit for THREE years. For THREE years, we have emphatically and categorically denied these allegations. For THREE years we have maintained our innocence and refused to pay these extortionate demands for things we didn't do," the couple said in a statement, according to 'Complex.'

"For THREE years, we've maintained the same position while the claims in this story have changed time and time again," they continued. "Our position is clear...We are innocent of these fake claims, we will not be shaken down, and we look forward to our day in court."
