Jennifer Garner Has 'No Choice' But Pick Up Ex Ben Affleck's Pieces, 'Doubts' JLo Relationship 'Would Work Out': Report
Jennifer Garner has to be involved in Ben Affleck's life amid his marital crisis with Jennifer Lopez to ensure his well-being for their children, according to an insider.
Garner, 52, and Affleck, 51, have remained amicable following their separation in 2015 and divorce in 2018 because they share three kids -- Violet, 18, Fin, 15, and Samuel, 12. They are still seen together from time to time, and the "Alias" actress is reportedly determined to help her ex-husband that's why she has been visiting him "a few times a week," an unnamed source told OK! magazine.
"She says her biggest concern is Ben spiraling worse than before. She won't let that happen," the anonymous source shared. "Jen's moved on from Ben as a husband, but because of the children they share, she'll always feel responsible for him."
The tipster also claimed that Garner "has no choice" but to help her ex-husband. He is allegedly at his "breaking point," so she has to visit him often to ensure he is OK.
"The last thing in the world Jen wants to do is pick up the pieces of Ben and J. Lo's broken relationship, but she has no choice. That's why she's spending so much time with Ben ... he's close to his breaking point," the insider added.
"People close to Ben have been concerned about him for some time. He's in a bad place and has been isolating. Jen's opening up to friends like never before about it, explaining why she's been so involved lately and is often seen visiting Ben. She wants to finally share her side of the story."
A second source claimed that the "Yes Day" actress has always had her "doubts" that Affleck and Lopez's rekindled romance "would work out." Another tipster told the Daily Mail that Garner was "surprised" at how Affleck changed when he got back with the "Atlas" actress.
"She was surprised at how public he became when they reunited because he was always a man who wanted to be out of the spotlight when they were married," the insider said.
However, the tipster also claimed that Garner was done helping her ex because she was already heavily involved, and it reportedly reminded her of the painful memories she went through during her divorce from the "Batman" actor.
"She cares about JLo and cares about their kids and how it will affect all of them," the insider claimed. "But in the end, it is not Jen's circus, not Jen's monkeys and she is done playing marriage counselor to her ex-husband and his wife."
The source added, "Jen eventually got to a place where she was like, 'Sorry, figure this out yourself.'"
