Safaree Samuels Admits He Experienced His ‘Darkest Times' After His Breakup With Nicki Minaj
Reality TV star Safaree admitted that the biggest "obstacle" he ever had to overcome was the aftermath of his breakup with Nicki Minaj.
While appearing on the 'We In Miami' podcast, the 'Love & Hip Hop' star claimed that people wanted him to "disappear" after his breakup with the 'Pink Friday' musician.
The 43-year-old also cited her relationship with Meek Mill made things harder because "two of the biggest people in the world" were against him.

"I was with Nicki, we broke up. So her fans and certain people wanted it to be like, 'Oh okay, they're not together anymore... f**k him. Let him be nothing. Let him disintegrate. Let him disappear,'" Safaree explained.
"You gotta think about it. I had two of the biggest people [Nicki Minaj & Meek Mill] in the world against me. That made everybody be against me. Nobody wanted to be next to me. Nobody wanted to work with me, or none of that," he expressed. "It just made everything hard. That was a dark time for me."
Despite the hardship he faced after the crumbling of his long-term relationship with the star, he proudly proclaims he's "still here."
"9-10 years later...10-15 TV shows later... a lot of music out later, doors up later... I'm still here. Some people don't like that," the reality star concluded.
Safaree and Minaj, 41, began their relationship in Queens in the early 2000s where they both participated in the same rap group, then-named Hoodstars. He was also Minaj's hype man during her early music days.
After diving into VH1's reality TV, Safaree tied the knot with fellow star Erica Mena in 2019. The two share two children; Safire, 4, and Legend, 3. They divorced in 2022.
