Former 'Teen Mom' Star Bariki 'Bar' Smith Arrested For Kidnapping And Harassment Charges
Bariki "Bar" Smith has been detained in Henderson, Nevada.
Reports indicate that the former 'Teen Mom' personality was taken into custody last Sunday. He is charged with second-degree kidnapping, coercion involving physical force or threat, contempt of municipal court, and harassment.
The 27-year-old's bail is set to $35,000. He is scheduled to attend a pre-trial custody status hearing before a judge Friday, according to 'In Touch Weekly.'
Specific details regarding the actions that led to Bar Smith's arrest are currently scarce.
The MTV alum is the estranged husband of Ashley Jones, a prominent 'Teen Mom' cast member. The couple initially met in 2015 and welcomed their daughter Holly in 2017. They made their reality television debut in 2018 on the spinoff series 'Teen Mom: Young and Pregnant.' Reports suggest Jones, 27, and Smith's relationship abruptly ended in 2023 due to allegations of Smith's reported infidelity.
During their separation, Smith posted a message on Instagram regarding their breakup, which he later deleted.
"I have had amazing times and learned so many things from Ashley. I will forever be grateful for everything but unfortunately, we have come to unforeseen issues and people grow apart," he reportedly wrote. "There is no specific blame being placed on either end but we had both respectfully agreed to part ways [and] continue with life unfortunately without each other I will always be there when I'm needed and so will she, but the time to separate has come."
