Amber Rose Believes Many Celebrities Want To Publicly Support Trump But Fear Losing Endorsements
Amber Rose has explained why she decided to support Donald Trump.
Rose, 40, used to criticize the former president, but she changed her mind and endorsed him. The "Punisher" star recently joined Lara Trump on "The Right View," where they talked about celebrities who believe in Trump's policies but are still too afraid to support him publicly. Rose claimed that she received a lot of DMs from those personalities.
"Laura, you're absolutely right," Rose said. "I had so many DMs from other celebrities, people in the entertainment business, and they're just like, 'I wish I can do that.' So he has a lot of support, they're just not being outward with it, that's it. They're just scared. They're scared that they're going to lose endorsements. They're scared that they're going to lose [the] acting roles that they have, but behind the scenes, they're definitely voting for Donald Trump. Absolutely."
Upon hearing Rose's response, Lara asked her why she wasn't afraid to speak up and publicly support Trump, given she was in the same industry. According to the "Sister Code" actress, she was "fed up" and felt safe during Trump's administration.
Rose, a single mom, stressed how important it was for her to feel protected. Rose shares sons, Slash, 4, with ex Alexander Edwards, and Sebastian, 11, with ex Wiz Khalifa.
"I was honestly fed up. I've been feeling like this for a long time, and I was tired of being politically correct as far as just being in the entertainment business," she explained. "I felt like I needed to use my platform to just speak the truth, and I'm a single mother of two. I'm an American, I was born in Philadelphia, and for me, Donald Trump is the epitome of an alpha male."
She continued, "He's there to protect, provide, make sure the citizens of the US, are, you know, in a good economy, protecting us. You know, I feel protected by Donald Trump. That's why I wanted to come out and publicly endorse him because I just feel safe."
Rose previously called Trump a "sexual predator" in a tweet in 2018. However, in May, she shared a photo of her with Trump and his wife, Melania, on Instagram.
"Trump 2024," she wrote in the caption with multiple U.S. flag emojis to publicly show her support for the presumptive Republican candidate.
