Kate Middleton All Smiles As Princess Charlotte Greets Wimbledon Champion Carlos Alcaraz
Kate Middleton enjoyed a proud moment alongside her daughter, Princess Charlotte, and Wimbledon's new champ, Carlos Alcaraz.
The official Instagram page for Wimbledon posted a smiling Middleton and her 9-year-old daughter greeting the tennis champion who bested Novak Djokovic in the men's singles final.
Princess Charlotte shook hands with the tennis star, jovial in her navy polka-dot dress and matching hair bow. Middleton is seen laying a warm and supportive hand on her back during the greet.
"A handshake for the champion from HRH Princess Charlotte [purple heart]," the caption read. A royal Wimbledon tradition, the Princess of Wales assumed her role of awarding the prizes to the players despite her ongoing battle with cancer.
"Great to be back @Wimbledon! There's nothing quite like The Championships [tennis ball]", the 42-year-old wrote on her Kensington Royal Twitter, now known as X.
The princess received a standing ovation when she arrived front row in the Royal Box. "The world loves her. She lit up the whole stadium being there," one user responded to the video. "Nice to see she's doing well. We need more positive news," a second chimed in.
Meanwhile, Princess Charlotte's pink Ray-Ban sunglasses are going viral, according to 'WWD.' The young royal sparked a frenzy after sporting a pair of frames polished transparent pink with clear gradient red mirror lenses.
Per the style hub, "Princess Charlotte Sunglasses" became a trending Google search following her appearance at Wimbledon. In addition to searching for her exact style, search terms "Ray-Ban kids" went up 140 percent and "Ray-Ban Sunglasses for Kids" increased a whopping 350 percent.
Princess Kate's appearance is considered a rare public outing as she continues treatment following her cancer diagnosis which was announced back in March.
