Cardi B Blasts Joe Budden For Being 'High On Coke' After His Rant About Her Unreleased Album
Cardi B is fed up with Joe Budden.
In a Thursday night X Spaces session, the "Enough" rapper said Budden is "obsessed with criticizing me up and down."
On the same day, Budden commented on his podcast, stating to co-host Trevor "Queenzflip" Robinson, "We'll never get another album again. I am standing on it." Robinson also claimed that he heard from sources at Atlantic Records that the label is pushing to release the album regardless of Cardi's involvement.
During her live audio conversation, Cardi, real name Belcalis Marlenis Cephus, dismissed the comment as a "lie," clarifying that the record company couldn't release her music without her consent because "I do not send my music to nobody. There's only two people that have possessions (sic) of my music, and that's me and my engineer."
"You're not thirsty for my album. You thirsty to criticize it. You thirsty to kick it down... You never compliment me. When's the last time you compliment me?" she asked.
The mother of two said Budden "only talked bad things about me." She also claimed she gave him "a lap dance two times in Starlet" when he was "high" on "coke."
The "Bongos" rapper also accused Budden, 43, of routinely pitting her against other female artists "every five or six months."
"You compare females to me that my worst records beat their best records," she declared.
Cardi had been hinting at the release of her second album, which she says is coming out later this year.
Her first album, "Invasion of Privacy," was released in April 2018. The project won Best Rap Album at the 2019 Grammy Awards. While she has worked with various artists and released singles since then, she has not yet released another full album.
Budden responded on X, formerly known as Twitter, with a series of posts during Cardi's Space session.
"I promise you, and I assure you, I will not cover anything she does for the rest of her career... Peace & love," he wrote in one of his messages. "I really just wanted an album from someone whose music i love," Budden mentioned.
He continued: "She cursing me smooth out but she still hilarious lol.... I'm going to bed, i apologize to @iamcardib for whatever i did and peace and love to all."
