Madonna's son is discovering how to live independently.
David Banda openly admitted that he has been searching for food throughout New York City since relocating from his mother's luxurious Upper East Side residence.

"It's lovely to experience it being nine o'clock at night, me being hungry and realizing that I don't have enough money to get food and scavenging," he claimed on Instagram Live. "It's fun to be young."
At 18, Banda now resides in the Bronx and has been giving guitar lessons to earn some additional money, even though his mother, Madonna, has an estimated net worth of $850 million.
"I'm really enjoying it. I'm not alone because I have my girlfriend," Banda said, referring to his partner Maria Atuesta. "But I love it."
He also revealed that his 65-year-old mother is now seeing Jamaican footballer Akeem Morris, following her breakup with Josh Popper.
The exact timing of Banda's move out of Madonna's home is unknown, but he was present with her during her alarming health crisis last year, which led to her hospitalization in the ICU. After spending over a week and a half in the hospital, the "Like a Virgin" singer expressed her gratitude for surviving a severe bacterial infection upon returning home.
In early July, Madonna shared on Instagram, along with a selfie, that her first thought upon waking up in the hospital was her children.
"A year ago today, I had just come home from the hospital after surviving a life threatening illness, I could barely stand in my backyard holding one sparkler," she penned. "I made a miraculous recovery and had an amazing year. Thank you God. Life is beautiful!"
