Chris Young Hospitalized With Leg Infection: 'Aw Naw' Crooner Forced To Cancel Tour Dates
Country singer Chris Young has been forced to cancel several tour dates after being hospitalized with a leg infection. He is recovering in a Denver hospital.
The Aw Naw crooner experienced symptoms of the unspecified ailment this week while en route to Montana and was taken by ambulance to the hospital, according to a statement from his rep (via Yahoo.)
"I didn’t even know I was sick,” he said. “One minute I was fine then suddenly I’m being rushed to the hospital."
He is listed in stable condition and will remain in the hospital for another day.
While he recovers, he will miss the next three dates on Brad Paisley's "Beat This Summer Tour." He is expected to resume touring in Redding, CA on Aug. 21.
Young apologized for disappointing his fans in a statement and noted, ""I look forward to being up and around and back on the road."
On Aug. 15, he tweeted: "Still in the ICU, but wanted to says thanks for all the well wishes. Sorry I had to cancel some shows guys."
Fans poured their support on Twitter. "The most important thing is your health...take care of you! The road & your fans will always be waiting for you!" one fan wrote.
Another fan tweeted: "Saying prayers for ya bud. You get well, the fans don't mind waiting."
Young won Nashville Star in 2006, and is known for hits such as Getting You Home. He is currently promoting his single Aw Naw from his fourth album, A.M., due to be released September 17.
