Tyler Perry Responds To Critics Who Say He Makes Movies With Repetitive 'Struggle' Narratives: 'I Don’t Rush Into Comments'
Tyler Perry is responding to critics who have called him out for his movies.
During an interview on Keke Palmer's 'Baby, This Is Keke Palmer' podcast published Tuesday, the self-made billionaire was asked how he feels about some critics' and viewers' harsh critiques of his art.
"Great, have your opinion... I live from this seat tempered, measured, patient, prayerful, and disciplined... I'm always disciplined about everything," Perry answered. "I step back, I count, I watch, I see which way I need to move; I don't rush into comments."
He answered how "You got to drown all of that out. If you let somebody talk you out of a place that God has put you in, you are going to find yourself in hell."

"I know for a fact that what I'm doing is exactly what I'm supposed to be doing because for every critic, I have thousands of emails from people saying, 'This [movie] changed my life,' " the director and writer continued. "Who are you to be able to say which Black story is important or should be told? Get out of here with that bull****."
The 54-year-old's latetst film, 'Divorce in the Black,' hit No. 1 on Prime Video, however, critics at 'Rotten Tomatoes' weren't impressed.
The highly-anticipated film received a rare and jaw-dropping 0% rating.
Listed as the "Top Critic," Andrew Lawrence boldly called the flick "easily [Tyler Perry's] worst film to date" — followed by a sour score of one out of five stars. The comment section only went downhill from there.
" 'Divorce in the Black' is a baffling viewing experience, and while it opens with a comfortable sense of theatrical nonsense, it quickly dissolves into tediousness," Blu-Ray critic Brian Orndorf penned.

However, one of the film's co-stars Cory Hardrict says otherwise.
Last week, 'TMZ' caught up with the lead actor — who plays the character Dallas opposite Meagan Good — where he claimed the shocking 'RT' score isn't going to get him down.
"I didn't see that," Hardrict, 44, stated in reference to the 0% rating.
"The people love the movie and we do it for the people. That's who I do it for. If the culture rocking with it. It's all love," the star explained. "The critics, man. Everyone has an opinion and they're entitled to it, so it's fine."
