Beloved restaurant owner Chad Dillon was murdered in a shooting in Atlanta.

He was 33.

Dillon was well known by his community for owning the popular restaurant The Boiler Seafood & Crab Boil. He opened the establishment in 2020 and it quickly became a favorite of the town. 'Fox 5' reports his restaurant attracted celebrities such as Offset, Allen Iverson, Queen Najia, Ja Rule, amongst others.

Looking to expand his ventures, Dillon was working to open a new Jamaican restaurant in Atlanta. This new restaurant was set to open in weeks.

According to 'The Jasmine Brand,' Dillon died on the scene after being shot outside of his own establishment on July 23 near Martin Luther King Jr. National Historical Park in the mid afternoon. After finding a black Rolls Royce where the shooting took place, authorities believe the attack was targeted.

Dillon is remembered positively by all who knew him. He spent his life not only owning restaurants, but he was also philanthropic. He donated nearly $15,000 to help convicted felons help start their own businesses.

Atlanta trainer Bryan Jean-Pierre mourned Dillon's death, writing how he "inspired this city more than you will ever know. Thank you for all you've done and just know your legacy will be remembered forever. Been pulling up to the boiler since Day 1 and I would come every Friday and bring all my friends. This city will never forget you and I'm sorry you had to go through this after you've helped your ppl in this city non stop. At this point Atlanta is a zoo, it's hard to believe we've lost control of the city."

"We are deeply saddened by the tragic passing of Chad Dillon, who was not only a valued client and dear friend but also a well-respected businessman. Our hearts go out to his family and loved ones during this incredibly difficult time," Malcolm P. Conner, LLC, Dillon's lawyer, said in a statement Wednesday. "We ask that the media and public respect the privacy of the family as they grieve this immense loss. Thank you for your understanding and respect."
