A popular YouTuber in China died live on camera on July 14 while entertaining her followers with a 10-hour Mukbang binge.

Streamer Pan Xiaoting was participating in her usual livestream content called a Mukbang — a form of content involving creators recording themselves eating excessive amounts of usually unhealthy foods.

The 24-year-old — marked as the first life claimed from participating in the gluttonous trend — collapsed suddenly mid-stream and died.

Xiaoting was known for her extreme eating, often participating in the challenge and eating food for more than 10 hours without a break, per 'Unilad.'

According to the media outlet, the YouTuber was hospitalized once after a session of overeating which led to gastric bleeding, however, she was discharged shortly after.

Her autopsy revealed that she had undigested food in her stomach after eating a whopping 10kg of food, which is the equivalent to over 22 pounds of food — including chocolate cake, chicken fingers, and seafood. It was also reported that her abdomen was severely deformed.

As the challenge has become a growing issue, China sought to tackle the deadly trend by imposing a ban on Mukbang videos back in 2016.

Fan-favorite American musician turned Mukbang star Nikocado Avocado, real name Nicholas Perry, has perhaps become the most popular with a subscriber count of over 3.8 million and a net worth of about $ 3.8 million.

While the trend may make YouTube influencers wealthy, experts express concerns that the popular videos spread the wrong message about health. "I do think there's a significant amount of pressure for these creators who are sitting there eating day after day and have millions of views and followers to actually replicate that behavior," nutritionist Maya Feller told 'ABC News.'

She concluded: "And that, in my opinion, is more where the danger lies, is that they've got to do it over and over again."
