The 2024 Paris Olympic Games officially kick off in France on Friday with the opening ceremony.

The star-studded ceremony will take place on the Seine River, where athletes, celebrities and public figures will participate in the Parade of Nations via custom-made floats. This marks the first Olympic Games opening ceremony to be held outside of a stadium.

The parade will begin at the Austerlitz bridge around 7:30 p.m. local time Friday (1:30 p.m. EDT/10:30 a.m. PT), according to Deadline.

The floats will all travel to Trocadéro, Paris, where the main ceremonies will be held.

Athletes Simone Biles, A'ja Wilson and Katie Ledecky are also set to walk during the event.

Meanwhile, Lady Gaga and Celine Dion will perform Édith Piaf's classic "La Vie en Rose" at the commencement ceremony.

Paris residents and visitors who can't see the parade and main ceremonies up close can still watch the event live from any of the 80 giant screens and speakers set up around the city.
