Athletes competing at the 2024 Paris Olympics have voiced concerns about their quality of food — or lack thereof — and their living spaces.

According to 'BBC,' French newspaper 'L'Équipe' reported athlete's claims of food shortages, specifically eggs and grilled meats. With a lack of food available, the organization went so far as to ration eggs on Wednesday.

The Olympic Village's catering partner, Sodexo Live!, claimed "volumes will be increased" in order to "satisfy the needs of the athletes."

On Thursday, 'The Telegraph' reported that not only was there not enough food, but the quality of food wasn't up to par. Chief Executive of Team Great Britain, Andy Anson, maintained that the food was "inadequate."

"At the beginning of every Games there's usually two or three issues — the big one this time is the food in the village, which is not adequate," said Anson. "There are not enough of certain foods — eggs, chicken, certain carbohydrates, and then there is the quality of the food, with raw meat being served to athletes. They have got to improve it over the next couple of days dramatically."

"Our athletes have decided they would rather go and eat in our performance lodge in Clichy, so we are having to get another chef to come over as the demand is far exceeding what we thought it would be," Anson revealed.

Aside from the Olympic village food shortage, athletes simply aren't comfortable in their dorms. Olympians are reportedly ditching the village for their own personal hotel accommodations, citing "unlivable conditions."

In an effort to achieve what they're calling "the greenest ever games," organizers have completely opted-out of installing air conditioning in the athlete's living spaces. Instead, they've decided to use a cooling system focused on a system of water pipes running beneath the floor boards.

"This village was designed to avoid the need for air conditioning, even in very, very high temperatures, in order to maintain comfortable temperatures," the Mayor of Paris, Anne Hidalgo, stated in March, per 'Reuters.' The US Olympic and Paralympic Committee (USOPC) allowed Team USA to bring portable air conditioning units to Paris.

The organizers of the 2024 Paris Olympics have responded to fierce backlash following what fans called an "offensive" opening performance. Paris Olympics' spokesperson Anne Descamps maintains that there was "never an intention to show disrespect to any religious group."
