Rev. Al Sharpton's Significant Weight Loss Causes Fans To Worry About His Health
Fans are concerned about Reverand Al Sharpton's health.
From his time as a civil rights activist to his work as a TV host and journalist, many have spent their lives following his leadership. However, a recent picture prompted concerns amongst his followers.
According to 'Atlanta Black Star,' fans questioned the significant amount of weight Sharpton lost, which led many to believe that he may be unwell.
"He started losing weight when he found out he had diabetes," one follower suspected. He was diagnosed with the illness back in 1993. While he has struggled with type 2 diabetes nearly 30 years, some think that the transformation has gone too far.
The picture in question showed Sharpton, 69, smiling while wearing Nike workout gear.

While the public may be concerned, Sharpton attests that he is at his healthiest.
Sharpton, who is down from 300-plus pounds to 130 pounds, told 'GQ' his workout routine.
"Every morning, I either do 20 minutes on the elliptical, and try to do 2.5 miles, or I'll do two miles on the elliptical and two miles on the bicycle. Then I do weights. ... In my building on the Upper West Side, they have a gym, so I'm used to that one," he said. "When I'm on the road, scheduling always makes sure the hotel has a 24-hour gym. I won't stay in a hotel unless they have a gym."
The Baptist minister also told the outlet how he eats "a banana before I work out at about 4:15 am. I have the protein powder with that. Then I may have a salad anywhere between 11 and 12, and I'll also have one slice of seven-grain toast. In the evening, around six o'clock, I have two more slices."
He concluded: "The doctors said I have to have more carbs. So I have three slices of seven-grain toast a day in total. I have to stay at a hotel with a fitness room and that also has seven-grain toast."
