Fans expressed outrage after 'Complex' published a false article mistakenly linking 'ChrisNxtDoor' to a scandal involving inappropriate messages to a minor.

The error occurred when publication misidentified 'ChrisNxtDoor,' a member of the 'AMP' collective, as the person accused of the scandal, instead of 'ChrisV,' the actual cameraman involved.

ChrisV, Cenat's former cameraman, was found to have been messaging a girl who initially claimed to be 19 but later revealed she was 17. The inappropriate messages were exposed on social media, leading to Cenat's emotional response and subsequent decision to sever ties with his cameraman.

Inaccurate reporting by 'Complex' led to significant backlash. The article incorrectly stated, "A member of 'AMP' (Any Means Possible) collective, ChrisV, a.k.a Chrisnxtdoor, has been accused of sexting a minor."

ChrisNxtDoor responded directly to the error, posting on X, formerly known as Twitter, "Complex delete this pic of me ... and take down this article do research before you type something up. ... not cool." His call for a correction led to the news oultet removing the article, but the damage had already been done.
