Snoop Dogg says Queen Elizabeth II was a hip-hop fan like her grandson, Prince William.

Before flying to France to serve as NBC's 2024 Paris Olympics correspondent, Snoop sat down for an interview with DJ Jordan North on July 23 on the U.K. radio station Capital FM, where he opened up about his past relationship with the late monarch.

During their chat, the "Drop It Like It's Hot" hitmaker shared that Buckingham Palace was on his itinerary for his U.K. visit.

"I'll go by the palace, see if they let me in," Snoop, born Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr., told the radio host.

North then mentioned that Prince William is said to be "a huge Snoop fan" -- something the future king apparently had in common with his late grandmother.

"Well, the Queen was a fan too," Snoop said. "Rest in peace to the Queen, that was my girl. You know what I'm saying?"

"So, just may want to go up and, you know, see what you do," the rapper added.

Snoop's connection with Queen Elizabeth traces all the way back to 1994 when the monarch stopped him from being thrown out of the U.K.

At the time, Snoop was performing shows in England as he faced first- and second-degree murder charges in California. He was later acquitted in 1996.

According to the rapper, it was Queen Elizabeth who stepped in and prevented him from being banned from the U.K.

"Guess who came to my defense? Just take a guess," Snoop told DJ Whoo Kid in a February 2022 interview. "The Queen. The Queen said, 'This man has done nothing in our country. He can come.'"

"The Queen...bow down...when the Queen speaks, bow down. That's [Prince] Harry and William's grandmother, you dig?" he added.

The "Nuthin' But a G Thang" rapper suggested that the late queen -- who died in September 2022 -- may have helped him at the request of Prince William and Prince Harry.

"You think they weren't there, saying, 'Grandma, please let him in, grandma. He's OK. We love his music,'" Snoop said of the royal brothers.

Pretending to be Queen Elizabeth, Snoop then responded to himself, "'You know Harry, I'll let him in for you. He's not so bad after all, and he's quite cute.'"

"The Queen, that's my gal," Snoop added.

Snoop also shared in 2021 that he became friends with the Prince of Wales and the Duke of Sussex after learning that they were fans of his.

"Harry and William are my boys," Snoop told the Mirror. "As soon as I knew they were fans, I reached out to them and we've been cool ever since."

He added that he always has Prince William and Prince Harry's back, noting: "I look out for them, and they can reach out to me whenever they want -- they know that."
