Man Decapitates His Wife After 3 Months Of Marriage, Parts Of Her Body Scattered Across In-Laws' Home

Jared James Dicus has been sentenced for decapitating his wife.

Back in January 2023, Anggy Diaz was decapitated and parts of her body were scattered across a home owned by her in-laws.

According to 'PEOPLE,' one year after the crime, Dicus, plead guilty to murder.

The two, who were living in Waller County, Texas, had only been married for 3 months. Dicus' father called the police after finding his son's new wife murdered. When authorities arrived on the scene, Waller County Sheriff Troy Guidry said that they found "a portion of a body, dismembered and a residence that was covered in blood." The head of Diaz, who was 21 years old, was found "in the shower."

Dicus was sentenced to 40 years in prison after he confessed to the crime during a Waller County police interrogation. Through his plea bargain, he also waived the right to appeal the verdict. He's not eligible for parole until 2043.

Criminal District Attorney Sean G. Whittmore said "Heinous crimes like this one will not go unanswered, we will seek justice for the victims of domestic violence and send a message to the perpetrators that here, we fight for our victims," per 'Fox 26.'

"The best you can say is that's the world we live in today. It's a gruesome scene," Sheriff Guidry said, per the outlet. "And both sides of these families are gonna be altered by it, either way, suspect and the victim's. It is gruesome. It's a gruesome crime. Hopefully, everything turns out to end up the best way it can at this point."
