Sibling's Fight Over Unseasoned Chicken Escalates To A Brawl Involving A Knife, Gun, Bug Spray, And Broom
Two siblings ended up in jail after a tumultuous series of incidents unfolded while one was cooking dinner.
A startling report from Georgetown County reveals that Anthony Harper, 27, and his sister Hope Harper, 25, were both arrested and charged with assault following a violent episode at their family residence on Sunday evening.
In an arrest report from the Georgetown County Sheriff's Office obtained by 'TooFab,' deputies were summoned to the residence due to an ongoing assault.
Upon arrivial, authorities learned that the altercation started when Hope questioned why her brother "didn't season the chicken that was cooking so it could crust up." He reportedly responded, "I know how to cook," and mentioned that their grandmother would season it. Hope retorted, "You're not human, you're a dumb dog."
In retaliation, an "irate" Anthony is said to have pushed his sister into a table and struck her approximately five times "with a closed fist." At one point during the chaos, someone in the house fired a 9mm handgun into the ceiling in an attempt to get them to stop and "separate."
According to the report, Hope then "armed herself with a steak knife" and began pursuing her brother while "starting to swing the knife" at him — prompting him to shout "She's trying to kill me!" The grandmother reportedly intervened, attempting to break up the altercation by swatting at Hope with a broom.
Anthony then reportedly grabbed a can of Raid bug spray and started spraying his sister in the face. She seized the can and retaliated in kind. The siblings ended up filing charges against each other. Hope was charged with one count of assault and battery in the third degree, while Anthony faced both a third-degree and a second-degree assault and battery charge.
Both have been released on bond, as per the booking records.
