Halle Berry Wants Ex-Husband Olivier Martinez To Attend Co-Parenting Therapy In New Court Order
A Superior Court judge rejected Halle Berry's motion to enforce a co-parenting plan with Olivier Martinez.
Berry sought judicial intervention alleging that her ex-husband hadn't attended the agreed-upon co-parenting sessions for their 9-year-old son Maceo. She claimed that Martinez, 58, was not following through with the plan they set up.
On May 29, Berry, 57, and the French actor settled on "co-parenting therapy" with a coach to "resolve disputes and conflicts between them in an effort to successfully co-parent," outlined in court documents obtained by 'PEOPLE.'
According to Berry's recent filing in the Los Angeles County Superior Court, Martinez "unilaterally terminated" these sessions without notifying either Berry or the coach.
In her court documents, the Cleveland, Ohio, native accused Martinez of "careless disregard" for their agreements and court orders, stating that his actions negatively affect their son and their strained relationship.
Berry requested that Martinez be mandated to attend at least one more session before July ended and to adhere to the agreed schedule in August. She sought to have the court "enforce Olivier's compliance" with the agreement by July 29.
Judge Shelley Kaufman denied this request, citing a "lack of exigent circumstances," meaning the judge did not see the issue as an immediate emergency.
The 'Catwoman' actress' filing indicated that after their May 29 agreement, both parties were to complete separate sessions before starting joint sessions, and the co-parenting therapist was supposed to engage relevant third parties. However, she claims that none of this has happened and Martinez took "the summer off."

The filing also noted that the sessions were conducted via Zoom, making location irrelevant. Berry accused Martinez of "refusing to complete the necessary paperwork" for the therapist to contact relevant third parties and claimed he recommended co-parenting therapy as a means to "delay intervention at all costs."
Berry said she attempted to resolve the issue privately and with their attorneys before involving the court. Their divorce was finalized in August, with shared legal custody and Berry paying $8,000 a month in child support, plus additional support based on her income.
Halle initially filed for divorce in October 2015, after two years of marriage. In their joint statement, they expressed sadness over their decision and asked for privacy while focusing on their son's well-being.
