The lineup for the 51st installment of the New York Film Festival was released today. The festival will run from Sep. 27 through Oct. 13.

The festival had announced earlier that Paul Grengrass' Captain Phillips will be the opener, Ben Stiller's The Secret Life of Walter Mitty will be the centerpiece, and Spike Jonze's Her will close the festival. The list of films slated to screen at the festival include a host of Cannes winners from the Coen brothers' Inside Llewyn Davis (winner of the Grand Prix award) to Alexander Payne's Nebraska (the film's lead, Bruce Dern won the best actor award).

The highlights this time round include Hayao Miyazaki's first animated feature in five years, The Wind Rises; the last film of Tony Curtis' (Four Weddings and A Funeral) career, About Time; Jim Jarmusch's Tilda Swinton starrer Only Lovers Left Alive; J.C. Chandor's Robert Redford starrer All is Lost; James Gray's The Immigrant; and Child of God, James Franco's adaptation of the Cormac McCarthy novel.

"Cinema is a vast terrain with a complex ecology, encompassing a mindbending array of species and habitats," commented NYFF Director of Programming Kent Jones. "I love the level of diversity in the main slate selections, which includes documentaries, biographies, comedies, adventures, epics, chamber pieces, elegies, explorations and affirmations. I hope you enjoy it as much as we did."
