Social Media Users Shocked After Men Start a Campfire By a Gas Station Pump: 'Pure Madness'
In a video that has gone viral on social media, a group of men can be seen starting a bonfire at a gas station in India, dangerously close to one of its gas pumps.
Initially posted to X, the video amassed more than 240,000 views in a matter of days, sparking outrage from users who replied to criticize the irresponsibleness of the act.
"This is pure madness. They're risking their lives and others' too!" one user commented. "How can someone be so careless? This could have ended in disaster," wrote one shocked user.
The group of men can be seen seated on lawn chairs around the fire, which is seemingly located about a foot or two away from a gas pump. The camera pans to a tanker truck several feet away from the group, the contents of which have not been confirmed.
Gas pumps in India are often surrounded by distinct signage warning people not to use their phones, light matches or smoke nearby in order to avoid accidents.
The video has prompted discussion on gas station safety protocols, with many users calling for improved enforcement of necessary precautions.
