The official cast of the second season of the Netflix series has been confirmed with new faces behind and in front of the camera.

After the massive success of the first season of 'One Hundred Years of Solitude,' the Netflix series based on Gabriel García Márquez's iconic novel, the platform has confirmed a second season. This new season promises to delve even deeper into the family intrigues and secrets that have captivated millions worldwide.
Through its official Instagram account in Colombia, Netflix announced that filming for the second season is officially underway, with new faces joining the cast.

New cast members
Laura Mora returns as director, following her acclaimed work in the first season. This time, she is joined by renowned filmmaker Carlos Moreno, known for 'Distrito Salvaje' and 'Perro Come Perro,' replacing Álex García, who co-directed the first season with Mora.
"Laura Mora and Carlos Moreno will bring this new phase of Macondo to life," Netflix Colombia stated, promising an even richer and more immersive visual experience.
Several actors will reprise their roles, including Marleyda Soto as Úrsula Iguarán and Claudio Cataño as Colonel Aureliano Buendía.
New additions to the cast include Ángela Cano, Emmanuel Restrepo, Estefanía Piñeres, María Adelaida Puerta, Emiliano Pernía, Juanita Molina, Laura Taylor Obeida Benavides, Julián Román, and Carla Baratta, though their characters have yet to be revealed.
Who is leaving the show?
Along with director Álex García, some characters will not return due to their storylines concluding in the first season. Among them are Remedios Moscote (Cristal Aparicio), José Arcadio Buendía (Marco González as young José Arcadio and Diego Vásquez as the adult version), and Melquíades (Moreno Borja).
Will this be the final season?
It seems so. Netflix Latin America's vice president Francisco Ramos, confirmed in an interview that bringing in Mora and Moreno was key to giving the story a strong conclusion:
"We are in the best hands to bring the Buendía family's journey to a satisfying end."
Though an official release date has not been confirmed, the second season is expected to premiere in mid-to-late 2026.
If you haven't read the novel or watched the first season, there's still plenty of time to immerse yourself in this fascinating world created by the legendary Colombian author.
