Katy Perry released a tropical snippet of her video for her latest single Roar on Monday.

In the 20-second clip, Perry wears a funky outfit as she swings from a tree in the jungle. Her co-stars include an elephant, monkey and tiger.

"You're going to hear me roar," she sings as she swings.

The 28-year-old performed the single at the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday night at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y. During her performance, Perry took on the role of a boxer as she danced in a ring and also showed off her jump rope skills.

"I got the eye of the tiger, a fighter, dancing through the fire cause I am a champion and you're going to hear me roar, louder, louder than a lion," she passionately sang. "Cause I'm a champion and you're going to hear me roar."

Perry also advertised the song a little more with a diamond grill that she wore at the show, which spelled the song title on the four front teeth.

"Tonight's custom #ROAR GRILL courtesy of the FAMED @tvjohnny shout out to @cstonethebreadwinner as well!!!" she tweeted on Monday along with a photo.

The song is off Perry's upcoming album Prism, which drops on Oct. 22.

"It's the 28-year-old version of me. Last record, which was very fun, and kind of like a cartoon character. This record is a lot more stripped down." she told Elvis Duran And The Morning Show of New York City's Z-100. "It's the essential oils of me represented."

She also explained to the radio station how she decided upon the album's title.

"'Prism' is what colors are. That's why I called it Prism. For a minute I thought, OK, I was going to do a dark record, but then I let the light in, and that's what a Prism does," she said.

The Roar video will be released on Sept 17.
