Samsung Galaxy S3 - Is this Prototype Photo the SGS3?
A photo of the Samsung Galaxy S3 prototype has been leaked this week. The sleep handset has the internal code I9300 - which is believed to be the Galaxy S3. The casing of the phone appears to be disguised - as it is rumored to come with a ceramic casing. The photograph shows a menu, back, home and multitasking button on the front.
The highly anticipated Galaxy S3 smartphone is expected to be unveiled to the world in London next week. Samsung sent invitations to the "Come and meet the next Galaxy" event which will be held on May 5. However, a new ad for the event says it is now called Mobile Unpacked, and there is speculation that the new generation Galaxy Tab will be revealed as well.
Latest rumors surrounding the Galaxy S3 indicate that the device will feature a quad-core processor, as well as a Gorilla Glass 2 display. Other rumors state that the device could include wireless charging capabilities, as well as 4G LTE, and a unique ceramic-style casing. The 1.4GHZ processor running Android 4.0, Ice Cream Sandwich is expected to run smoothly with 1GB of RAM, an 8-megapixel camera, 16GB of internal storage and a microSD slot.
The Galaxy S3 has been a well kept secret for months, with major carriers only being sent a plain box with the screen and ports revealed so the full design could not be leaked prior to the official unveiling. The tactic has been working as smartphone lovers have grown in anticipation at what Samsung will release to compete with the upcoming iPhone - presumably the iPhone 5.
Apple is expected to release the next generation iPhone some time later this year, likely between June and October.
