Drake's new album will show a different side to him, according to one of his producers Noah "40" Shebib.

"It's a huge change in tone," Shebib told Rolling Stone, as seen in an excerpt photo taken by NahRight.com. "Before, Drake was a nice guy. Here, he's stepping up the attitude and playing hardball."

The Canadian rapper also spoke about his own progression and referenced his song Paris Morton Music II as proof.

"That track excites me from a rap standpoint, just getting off bars and different flows. I played it for J. Cole, on some rap buddy-buddy sh--, and he was like, 'Damn,'" Drake said about the sequel to his solo version of Rick Ross' Aston Martin Music.

Drake also enlisted some mega talent for his upcoming album, including Jay Z and Lil Wayne. Superstar producer DJ Hudson Mohawke will also contribute to the record. The Scottish DJ produced Cruel Summer, an album from Kanye West's G.O.O.D. Music label.

The rapper's third album will be the follow-up to 2011's Take Care. His sophomore album peaked at No. 1 on Billboard, as did his debut album Thank Me Later in 2010. Take Care also won the Grammy for Best Rap Album at the 2013 award show and sold more than a million copies in the U.S. alone.

"This is my f--cking moment to say if I wanted to rap all the time, really rap, I would, but I also love to make music," he told GQ in July about the forthcoming album. "I'll do this for you right now. But it's for me, too. It's my story... I'm trying to get back to that kid in the basement. To say what he has to say. And I'm trying to make it last."

Following the album's release, Drake will go on tour with singer Miguel and Future to promote it.

Nothing Was The Same hits stores on Sept. 24.
