Justin Timberlake wants to play a villain in the Man Of Steel sequel alongside Ben Affleck.

"I ain't playing Robin. I have no aspiration to ever be a superhero in a movie," Timberlake told New York's Fresh 102.7's Jim & Kim morning show on Tuesday. "I'll tell you the villain I want to play more than anything because I grew up loving Batman, funny enough, is the Riddler. The Riddler is my favorite villain."

The singer explained what intrigues him about the specific character. He said the villain was "like a sociopath" and added, "He was like proper crazy. So if I'm going to play crazy, I want to play proper crazy."

Affleck is set to play the superhero in the Warner Bros. film coming to theaters in the summer of 2015. The action flick will be different than all the previous ones because it will unite Batman with Superman.

"Affleck and filmmaker Zack Snyder will create an entirely new incarnation of the character in Snyder's as-yet-untitled project - bringing Batman and Superman together for the first time on the big screen and continuing the director's vision of their universe, which he established in Man of Steel," Warner Bros. said in a statement.

Henry Cavill, who played Superman in 2013's Man of Steel, will continue his role in the forthcoming film. This will be the first time Affleck will play Batman. While Warner Bros. is certain the actor is the right choice, some Batman fans were outraged by the casting news. Timberlake, however, isn't one of them.

"Ben Affleck as Batman, I like it. I worked with Ben last summer and I've seen his process," the singer told the radio station in regards to their movie Runner Runner. "I think he's a brilliant filmmaker. I think he's an extreme talent so he could surprise a lot of people."
