Cher Lloyd has a new upbeat song with rapper T.I. called I Wish.

"The underline meaning of the song would probably be being your average girl, liking someone, and then realizing that you're not actually happy with yourself, and he isn't happy with you either," the singer said in a statement in regards to the song. "You feel a bit low and you want all the things that other girl has that he likes."

The southern rapper brings some smooth bars to the track rapping, "Ain't no talking reckless girl, I'm certified respected girl."

Lloyd, whose debut album Sticks + Stones was released in the U.S. in 2012, is getting ready for her second album. The former U.K. X Factor contestant said that it will showcase a new side of her.

"I've slightly veered off a little bit from this sort of bubblegum pop stuff I used to do. I feel like I've grown a lot over the past couple of years," she told Idolator in a June interview. "So I think it's time for me to venture out and not play it safe anymore. You might hear some crazy stuff very soon - maybe a bit of garage, a bit of drum and bass. I'm bringing my English back."

The 20-year-old also revealed that she will be working with Swedish producers on the upcoming record. One in particular is Shellback, who will also executive produce the whole record. The Grammy nominated producer has previously worked on material for Pink, Taylor Swift and Britney Spears.

"When I think about it, I'm like, 'Wow, what's going on? What happened?' I must have smiled a lot at him or something," she said of working with the famous producer.

The British star will also embark on her "I Wish" tour along with Fifth Harmony on Sept. 6.
