'Grey's Anatomy' Season 10 Spoilers: Kate Walsh Return Hinted by Shonda Rhimes [PROMO VIDEO]
Grey's Anatomy creator Shonda Rhimes revealed that she wants Kate Walsh to return to the show and reprise her role as Addison Montgomery-Shepard, ex-wife of Meredith's husband Derek Shepard.
Walsh starred on the ABC medical drama before Rhimes gave her her spin-off show, Private Practice. In Grey's, the actress played Derek's wife and also the love interest of his best friend, Mark Sloan. Private Practice aired its series finale early in 2013 and Rhimes tweeted she would love to see Walsh back on Grey's, leading up to the show's season 10 premiere.

Responding to a fan question on Twitter about whether or not it was true that she was hoping to get Walsh back on the show, Rhimes replied "YES." She did not, however, specify what the storyline would be for getting Addison back to Seattle's Grey-Sloan Memorial Hospital. If she does return with a storyline involving her love life, it may play out differently on-screen than in the past now that Mark is dead, and Derek and Meredith are married with two children.
Walsh has not commented on her possible return to the show.
Rhimes is known for bringing back old characters and Shepard has guest starred on the show before.
