Best Summer Songs 2013: Daft Punk, Robin Thicke, Jay Z & More [VIDEOS]
As summer comes to an end, EnStars compiled a list of the songs that made the hot season even more enjoyable.
1) Daft Punk: Get Lucky
When the French house music duo collaborated with Pharrell Williams, the biggest summer hit of summer 2013 was created. They had everyone singing, "We're up all night to get lucky."
2) Robin Thicke featuring T.I. and Pharrell Williams: Blurred Lines
Robin Thicke was the talk of the summer with Blurred Lines, an upbeat tune that features rapper T.I. and Pharrell Williams. Although Thicke's career started almost 10 years ago, the song made him into a household name. He also took to the stage at the Video Music Awards to perform the track on Aug. 25, his first time ever performing at the respective awards ceremony.
3) Drake: Started From The Bottom
Whether you started from the bottom or not, it was hard to not sing along to Drake's catchy chorus. "Started from the bottom now the whole team here," he raps.
4) Ariana Grande featuring Mac Miller: The Way
A new vocal powerhouse was born this summer. Ariana Grande was even compared to the legendary Mariah Carey with her popular single The Way featuring Mac Miller.
5) Icona Pop: I Love It
While the Swedish duo, Icona Pop, released I Love It back in 2012, they had everyone in the U.S. singing, "I don't care, I love it," this summer.
6) Capital Cities: Safe And Sound
Two years ago, American indie rock band Capital Cities released its single, Safe And Sound, but it wasn't until this summer when the song blew up. Better late than never.
7) Jay Z featuring Justin Timberlake: Holy Grail
When Jay Z and Justin Timberlake collaborate, the outcome is a hit. Holy Grail is their latest example.
8) Zedd featuring Foxes: Clarity
Zedd produced one of the biggest electronic dance songs of the summer, titled Clarity, which features vocals from English singer Foxes.
9) Macklemore & Ryan Lewis: Can't Hold Us
Macklemore & Ryan Lewis were two of the most talked about guys during the summer and their single Can't Hold Us is one of the reasons.
10) Calvin Harris featuring Ellie Goulding: I Need Your Love
Perhaps the best love song of the summer was produced by Calvin Harris, the man behind Rihanna's We Found Love. I Need Your Love features vocals by British singer Ellie Goulding.
