In the first 2014 World Cup Qualifier match of the day, it will be Russia facing off against Luxembourgh on Friday.

The Russians will be looking to get a handle on Group F, and currently finds themselves in second place with 12 points. They trail Portugal by only two points.

Russia began its respective WCQ campaign with a 2-0 victory over Northern Ireland and went on to dominate Israel 4-0 in the second game of the qualifiers.

The team then prevailed against the likes of Portugal and Azerbaijan in two consecutive 1-0 outcomes.

However, the squad wasn't able to continue on with its success, going on to fall short by a score of 1-0 to Portugal in its fifth quarter. Russia then went on to falter against Northern Ireland by a 1-0 margin.

Luxembourgh are in a significantly worse predicament, only putting up three points in six games. With a mere four matches left, the club can only obtain a maximum of 15 points with four straight victories. A defeat to Russia will assure their eliminations.
