Robert Pattinson Kristen Stewart Post-Split Gig: To Star in James Dean Biopic
Robert Pattinson has landed another flick following the end of the Twilight franchise.
The British actor will star in Life, a film about the true story of a friendship between the late iconic actor James Dean and his friend, LIFE photographer Dennis Stock.
Pattinson will play Stock, according to E! Online.
Stock is the real-life magazine photographer who snapped the iconic images of Dean that are still revered today. Life will follow their cross-country road trip from Los Angeles to New York. The images were taken before Dean landed his first major role in the 1955's East of Eden.

Dean shot to stardom overnight for his roles in Eden, 1955's Rebel Without A Cause and 1956's Giant. After he died suddenly from a car crash at the age of 24, he later earned the first posthumous Academy Award. Rebel and Giant were released in theaters after he died.
Stock published a book about Dean, James Dean: Fifty Years Ago in 2005. He revealed in the book that it was his idea to take pictures of Dean during a cross-country trip. Together, they drove from Los Angeles to Dean's hometown in Indiana and to New York.
"The story, as I explained it [to Jimmy], was to reveal the environments that affected and shaped the unique character of James Byron Dean," Stock wrote. "We felt a trip to his hometown, Fairmount, Indiana, and to New York, the place of his professional beginnings, would best reveal those influences.... I would solicit an assignment guarantee to cover expenses. The obvious magazine to approach was LIFE.... It took only a week for LIFE to approve the assignment."
