Adele's Dad Ill and Diagnosed With Cancer: Begs Singer for Chance to Meet His Grandson, Angelo
Adele's estranged father has renewed his pleas for a reconciliation with the British singer following his diagnosis with bowel cancer.
Mark Evans, who split from Adele's mother Penny when the star was just three years old, has now revealed he is battling cancer and has undergone surgery to have a number of tumors removed from his stomach and bowel.
He is currently awaiting the results of further tests before his treatment continues and he has issued a heartfelt plea to his daughter, requesting to meet his 11-month-old grandson, Angelo, before it is too late.
Evans has been attempting to mend their broken relationship, but the pair remain estranged.
"I still haven't met Angelo and I'm facing the fact I may never do," Evans told The Sun. "It could be over for me before I get to make my peace with Adele."
He admitted he was a terrible father and not there when Adele needed him.
"The years are going by and I'm worried I'm not going to see my grandson and do the things with him that I did when Adele was a child," he said.
Adele and boyfriend Simon Konecki welcomed Angelo in October 2012. After a victory tour through award season with her song Skyfall, the crooner is on hiatus with no immediate plans to record new material.
In June, the Rolling In The Deep songstress took her son to the Central Park Zoo in Manhattan.
Mother and son, escorted by security, enjoyed getting a look at some of the zoo’s residents including snow leopards, polar bears, and penguins. Later on, Adele introduced Angelo to some goats and alpacas at the park's petting zoo.
