Lady Gaga performed a Wizard of Oz-inspired performance on Good Morning America on Monday.

The singer opened her set singing the 1939 film's main song, Somewhere Over The Rainbow. The song was first performed by late actress Judy Garland who portrayed Dorothy in the iconic film.

Gaga donned a black bob wig with bangs and wore a blue-and-white checked dress. She held a puppy in a basket which she stroked as she sang the classic tune before a live studio audience. Her background dancers were dressed as the film's other lead characters: Tin Man, Scarecrow and the Cowardly Lion.

After the characters told Gaga as Dorothy, 'Well Dorothy, we live to hear you sing!" Gaga replied, "Well, I live for your applause!"

Gaga's performance included four wardrobe changes. Initially, she and her dancers stayed in character as she performed Applause. Another dancer came out dressed as one of the film's troublesome flying monkeys. The singer disappeared from the stage and returned to her second outfit dressed as Glinda the Good Witch. She wore a blonde wig and pink princess-style dress as she held a wand as she continued her performance.

Gaga stripped again and wore an outfit similar to what she wore during her performance on the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards on Aug, 25-- a black stocking cap and black bodysuit.

She disappeared for a third time and returned wearing her fourth and final costume change-a gingham checked oversized bow in her hair, a brown wig and a matching jacket with oversized shoulder pads. Gaga's audience was in on the performance also. They wore oversized red flower hats.

Gaga released Applause, the first single from her forthcoming album ARTPOP, one week before her comeback performance at the MTV VMAs. She opened the show and was later upstaged by a raunchy set by Miley Cyrus.
