Briana Evigan and Ryan Guzman will be playing the lead roles in Step Up 5, the film's producer OffSpring Entertainment announced on Tuesday.

The studio confirmed the list of actors set to feature in the fifth of the Step Up franchise. It was rumored that Channing Tatum, who starred in the first film, was in talks to make a comeback, but his name was not on the list released today. Tatum also gave a small cameo in Step Up 2.

Evigan starred in Step Up 2: The Streets and Guzman starred in Step Up: Revolution. The duo will be leading the megacast of the film, which is reuniting cast members from multiple sequels. There is a bevy of actors from the Step Up alum who will be returning for Step Up 5, and most of them will be reprising their old character roles: Adam Sevani (Moose), Misha Gabriel (Eddy), Alyson Stoner (Camille), Stephen 'tWitch' Boss (Jason), Mari Koda (Jenny Kido), Chris Scott (Hair), Luis Rosado (Monster), Chadd Smith (Vladd AKA Robot Guy), and Martin & Facundo Lombard (The Santiago Twins). Series dancers Marc "Marvelous" Iniss, Nolan Padilla, Phillip Chbeeb, Bianca Brewton, Tony Bellissimo, Josue "Beastmode" Figueroa, and Brandy Lamkim will also return for the sequel set during an epic dance battle in Las Vegas.

Izabella Miko (Coyote Ugly, Clash of the Titans) is the only new cast member who has never had any association with the Step Up franchise before. Miko will be playing the role of Alexxa, an entertainment director for the luxury Vegas hotel, Valhalla. Alexxa is a very ambitious businesswoman and in need of publicity. She decides to host the dance contest so that she can strike a 3-year deal with the winning team, which would contractually obligate them to perform at her hotel.

Step Up 5 has been scripted by John Swetnam (Evidence, Black Sky) and Offpring Entertainment's Matt Smith is exec producer

Filming is set to begin Sept. 19 in Vancouver and Las Vegas.

The cast for the original film, Step Up (2006), was led by Tatum and Jenna Dewan.
