Kate Upton received the Model of the Year honor at the 10th annual Style Awards on Sept. 4, the day before Fashion Week began at Lincoln Center, and then opted to skip the week's runways shows for some family time.

The model was instead spotted with family and friends at Brother Jimmy's Union Square on Sept. 7 watching the University of Michigan game, Page Six reported. Upton joined her mother, brother and sister -- all Michigan natives -- plus friends. They enjoyed platters of barbecue, pickleback shots and beer, according to the report. When Michigan won the game over Notre Dame, Upton was seen leaving with a smile.

That same day she tweeted about another sporting obsession of hers: tennis. She wrote to her brother, David, that Spanish player Rafael Nadal is "17x better" than Serbian Novak Djokovic and told her sister, Christie, "also he is wearing pink shoes which I respect completely."

In 2013, Upton covered Sports Illustrated's Swimsuit Issue for the second time in a row, followed in the footsteps of Gisele Bundchen and Kate Moss as a David Yurman model, joined Sam Edelman's campaign, earned her first American Vogue cover and got asked to prom on YouTube by a high school student. The 21-year-old has also graced the covers of Esquire, GQ, Cosmopolitan, ELLE, Harper's Bazaar and others. Most recently she was featured on the cover of Vanity Fair's 100th anniversary issue.

The Style Awards airs Sept. 14 on CNN for the first time in the show's history.
