Justin Bieber Impostor Sentenced to 14 Years in Jail on Pedophilia Charges
A man who posed as pop superstar Justin Bieber online who was arrested in one of the worst pedophilia cases the British courts have reportedly ever seen, was sentenced today to 14 years in prison.
More than 800 videos and images were discovered of Robert Hunter's computer.
Hunter, 35, was arrested after an international investigation by Interpol, which found he used sites including Facebook, Skype and MSN to abuse girls as young as nine-years-old from across Europe, Asia, Canada and the US.
Hunter was initially arrested in December of last year, but still continued targeting children until a girl from Australia contacted police.
Prosecutor Richard Bennett told The Guardian, "Over the course of 2010, 2011 and 2012, Hunter, using a number of online aliases, had pretended to a number of very young girls that he was a teenager."
"As a further demonstration of the naivete and innocence of his victims, he was also able to persuade some that he was the music artist Justin Bieber," he continued. "He did this in order to dupe and encourage these young girls to strip on webcams and perform sex acts for him."
Hunter was also accused of blackmailing some of his victims into agreeing to his demands by threatening to post videos he'd made of them online.
In total , Hunter pled guilty to 30 offenses, including 15 counts of causing or inciting a child to engage in sexual activity, and 14 of making indecent photos of children.
