There will be a major conflict between Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) and Magneto (Michael Fassbender) in the upcoming X-Men flick.

"It's fair to say we don't get on that well," Jackman told The Daily Beast in a Monday report. "I get sent back to the past and he has no idea who I am, but you can imagine Wolverine has a bit of fun with that."

In the forthcoming Bryan Singer film, Wolverine is forced to go to a previous era in hopes of altering a major historical event, one that has the potential to negatively impact humans and mutants simultaneously.

"So I wake up in my younger body and then what?" Wolverine is heard asking in the trailer, which leaked in August.

Most of the older and newer X-Men will also unite to battle the chaos in the movie, including Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult, James McAvoy and Anna Pacquin. While some fans might be weary of the union of all the characters, Jackman feels otherwise.

"I think some people are saying, 'Ah, this just sounds like an excuse to get all these actors together and make an Avengers-style movie,' but the truth is that it's a great script and Bryan is very ambitious to make the best movie of them all," he said. "He's a fan of time-travel movies, and the detail that's gone into it is incredible. I'm quietly confident that it will be the biggest and the best of them all."

The 44-year-old prepared intensely to get in shape for his role. He tweeted a photo of himself in July lifting weights and captioned the shot, "If the bar ain't bendin, then you're just pretending #xmen #daysoffuturepast."

X-Men: Days of Future Past, which finished filming in August, will be released on May 23, 2014.
