‘Justice League’ Movie Spoilers: Yuliya Snigir To Be Attached To Play Wonder Woman? [NEWS]
As anticipation grows for the as of yet untitled Justice League Movie, new rumors are swirling around the reports of a possible casting for an as-of-yet non-featured superhero.
According to fansshare.com, Yuliva Snigir, of A Good Day to Die Hard fame, is the latest name to be linked to playing Wonder Woman in the much-anticipated film.
If Snigir, a Russian actress, is indeed being considered for the role, she joins the rumor mill along with Taylor Cole and Adrianne Curry.
No characters or even a plot have been officially confirmed for the movie, which may not even hit theaters for years yet, but DC Comics is moving to green light more films around their comic book heroes, in an effort to catch up with rival Marvel.
Marvel, which teamed up with Disney, has already seen major success with their Phase I films, which included the first two Iron Man films, The Incredible Hulk, Thor, Captain America: The First Avenger, and last summer's record-breaking smash The Avengers. They already entered Phase II this year, beginning with Iron man 3's release this past May, and ending with the release of The Avengers: Age of Ultron in 2015. The company has also reportedly started making plans for Phase III as well.
DC, which partnered with Warner Bros., will be bringing the highly-anticipated Batman v. Superman movie to screens in 2015, and announced that Ben Affleck will be playing Batman opposite Henry Cavill's Superman character that was made famous in this year's Man of Steel.
Warner Bros. CEO Kevin Tsujihara revealed at an investors meeting a few days ago that there is a plan in the works to release multiple DC comics films, according to cosmicsbooknews.com.
"Then you have 12 to 14 pictures coming from Warner Bros. And I think the basis, foundation of those 12 to 14 pictures are going to be coming from DC Entertainment," he said. "We have Batman versus Superman coming out in '15, but those are going to be in the coming months a lot of announcements regarding kind of the future movie, television, games and consumer product pieces that are going to be coming from DC."
The Justice League movie isn't slated to hit theaters until 2017.
