Britney Spears Eighth Album For Jason Trawick? 'Ooh La La' Singer Says Recording Felt Like 'Therapy' After Breakup [LISTEN]
Britney Spears phoned in On Air With Ryan Seacrest on Friday to discuss her upcoming eighth album and told him how recording the album helped her get through a difficult time.
"It's one of the most personal albums I've ever done," she told Seacrest. "From having a huge breakup this year and I just had a lot to say in the studio so it was really nice to be able to have it like a therapy like that and to be able to share that with my fans."

Spears was referring to Jason Trawick, her former fiancee. The couple called off their 13-month engagement in January. And while the 31-year-old is currently dating a lawyer named David Lucado, she said singing about her ex was the perfect way to move forward.
"Usually the stuff that really comes from the heart is usually the best stuff and has the best beat," she said. "It really kind of helps you get over the breakup really easy cause you sing about it and have to think about it every night but then you're like 'It's okay, I'm performing now.'"
The album's lead single, Work B--ch, shot to No. 1 in 36 countries a few hours after it was released. When asked why she thinks the single is doing so well, Spears had a few thoughts to share.
"Usually I tend to lean towards fun music. I think when you're having a good time and you're just out and about in your day, you want to have a good time. And, you want to listen to something that puts you in a good spirit and I think most of my music is uplifting, it's positive music," she said. "I think that's probably why."
The unnamed album hits stores on Dec. 3.
