Carrie Underwood Emmys 2013 Performance VIDEO, 'See You Again' Singer Tributes The Beatles & John F. Kennedy
Carrie Underwood took the stage at the 2013 Emmy awards to perform The Beatles' 1965 hit Yesterday.
The 30-year-old's beautiful rendition also paid tribute to the year 1963, which marked the band's debut performance on The Ed Sullivan Show as well as the assassination of President John F. Kennedy.

Before Underwood took the stage, a screen displayed the original broadcast that announced the news that Kennedy had been shot. It later also showed images of the legendary Beatles performance.
"Two emotional charged events, forever linked in our memories," presenter Don Cheadle said. "Fifty years later they underscore the immediacy of TV and its tremendous impact on our society. The boxes are thinner, the screens are flatter and more portable. But, television's power to engage, inform and unite continues to have a profound purpose as we remember the past, celebrate the present and anticipate our future."

On the days leading up to the Emmys, Underwood expressed her excitement for her performance via Twitter.
"I'm so honored to be performing on the #Emmys on @CBS tomorrow night! Any guesses on which Beatles song I'll be singing? I can't wait!" she tweeted on Saturday.
