‘Thor The Dark World’ News: Whedon Says Internet “Oversold” His Contribution To Movie [TRAILER & Details]
Amid reports that he was flown in to save Thor: The Dark World, writer/producer/director Joss Whedon said his contribution to the film wasn't really all it was made out to be.
Whedon's other Marvel credits include the first Thor movie, The Avengers, the upcoming The Avengers: Age of Ultron and the soon-to-premiere television show Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
He tweeted Sept. 19 that he didn't "save the movie" like the media says he has.
"Internet blithely oversells my tinkering on @Thormovies script--& FAILS to mention my body doubling for Hemsworth! #these #arenotthehammer" Whedon wrote.
'Thor 2 The Dark World' Spoilers: Several Scenes Now 'Much More Fun' & 'Surprising' [TRAILER]
In an interview with SFX magazine, Dark World director Alan Taylor revealed that Whedon was flown in to help rework a few key scenes in the film.
"Joss came in to save our lives a couple of times," Taylor said. "We had a major scene that was not working on the page at all in London, and he basically got airlifted in, like a SWAT team or something."
"Then finally we let go of him, and he took off again, and we shot the scenes, and they were just much better and much lighter on their feet. Much more fun, much more surprising than what we had been trying to do," he added.
Thor: The Dark World opens in theaters Nov. 8.
