Scarlett Johansson Says "I Made My Mark" Upon Receiving Walk of Fame Star
Scarlett Johansson received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on May 1.
Upon receiving the 2,470th star, Johansson said: "This industry in which I was practically raised has been so impossibly kind to me. There's never a day where I go to set and don't thank my lucky stars to simply be a working actor."
The actress was joined by her mother, grandmother, sister, and "The Avengers" co-star Jeremy Renner.
Johansson said: "When I was told I was getting this star, I thought to myself, man, I really made it to the big time.
"You know, no matter what happens from here on out, I made my mark, I'm here to stay, and my family for generations to come will always be able to visit me right here, always. What a deeply, deeply touching gift."
The star wore a gorgeous '40s outfit at the ceremony.
"I was like, 'Wow! I've been in the industry for 20 years, and I've worked since I was a kid.' It felt like a big milestone."
Renner commented on his co-star's recognition, saying: "Scarlett is built like a classic Hollywood movie star. However, it is only betrayed by her no-nonsense attitude, her sharp wit and self-deprecating sense of humor that truly defines her alluring charm."
"The Avengers" will be out on Friday.
