Daytime talk show host Wendy Williams announced three of the biggest categories of this year's Soul Train Awards on her Wendy Williams Show on Sept. 16.

Williams joined this year's host, Anthony Anderson, to reveal the nominees for Best New Artist, Single Of The Year, and Album of The Year.

Rapper Kendrick Lamar landed six nominations including album of the year for good kid, m.A.A.d city and both Songof the Year and Video of the Year for Poetic Justice. Lamar's other nominations include Best New Artist, Hip-Hop Song of the Year and Best Collaboration. R&B singers Justin Timberlake, Miguel, Robin Thicke, Chris Brown and Tamar Braxton follow Lamar with five nominations each.

Thicke's Blurred Lines, Rihanna's Diamonds and Chris Brown's Fine China competea with Lamar for Song of the Year. Reality stars K Michelle and Tamar Braxton are both up for the best new artist Award. Jay-Z and Justin Timberlake's indiviual albums are also up against Lamar for Best Album.

The Soul Train Awards will tape at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas on November 8 and will air on the Centric and BET networks on December 1, 2013 at 9:00 p.m. ET.
