While the members of NCIS: Los Angeles attempt to move on with their regular lives, one person will fall behind the rest of the team.

LAPD Detective and NCIS Liaison Marty Deeks (Eric Christian Olsen) is going to have far more trouble dealing with the aftereffects of torture than any of his coworkers, and viewers will being to see that as early as the season's second episode, "Impact."

While Callen (Chris O'Donnell) leads the Los Angeles team on an investigation into the causes of a plan crash that resulted in the death of a former Naval Admiral, operational psychologist Nate Getz (Peter Cambor) will return to help the investigative crew deal with past events.

"If an agent goes through anything like what we are putting these agents through, they have to have counseling," said series creator Shane Brennan, according to Xfinity. "It won't be the last time we see [Nate] this season."

However, it is imperative that someone gets Deeks back on his feet or else Hetty may give him the boot.

"For Deeks, this is not his background. He was a lawyer. He got into being a detective and then all of a sudden he's tortured for 7 hours," Olsen said, according to TV Fanatic. "He doesn't have the ability, at this point, to compartmentalize and fight through it. It's the most raw he's ever been. It's the most vulnerable he's ever been."

Will Deeks manage to overcome his trauma or will he wind up being the character rumored to leave the team in season 5?
