'The Voice' Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert React to Attack From Westboro Baptist Church VIDEO
Blake Shelton may be a recent target of the Westboro Baptist Church, but it doesn't look like the country singer is going to give them too much thought.
The church group is reportedly planning on picketing Shelton's Kansas City concert on Oct. 3. Based on their recent Twitter posts, the members of the Westboro Baptist Church have taken issue with Shelton's love life.
Originally married to Kaynette Gern, Shelton divorced her in 2006. After meeting fellow singer Miranda Lambert in 2005, Shelton married her in 2009 after several years of dating.
Signs posted by the Westboro Baptist Church claim that "Blake Betrayed His Wife" and "Blake Made Miranda a Whore" while also calling Shelton a treacherous dog.
Shelton, who recently began his fifth season as a coach on NBC's The Voice, and Lambert have spent the last few months deflecting speculation that their marriage was falling apart. However, Shelton was quick to defend his wife via Twitter.
"Hey WBC.. I've got one more sin for ya... Blow me," Shelton wrote on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, Lambert lamented the fact that people would stoop to such lows in order to get press coverage.
"It's such a shame when people use God as an excuse to get publicity. And they couldn't be farther from God. I'm glad I know maker so well," the 29-year-old told her followers.
Shelton can be seen on The Voice Mondays and Tuesdays on NBC.
