Adam Levine Lady Gaga Twitter Feud, 'The Voice' 2013 Season 5 Coach & 'Applause' Singer Resume Beef
Lady Gaga's growing list of Twitter beefs continued this week. Adam Levine fired back at the Applause singer after she commented on his tweet ahead of The Voice season 5 premiere.
Levine wrote a cryptic tweet on Sept. 20 that suggested he might be criticizing the singer -- although he did not specifically name Gaga.
"Ugh..recycling old art for a younger generation doesn't make you an artist. It makes you an art teacher," he wrote on Twitter last week. In another tweet, he wrote: "I unabashedly love writing and performing pop music for both myself AND everyone around me. That's It. It doesn't need any extra sauce."
Later that night, Gaga commented on the social media site: "uh oh guys the art police is here."
Levine must have been busy preparing for the season 5 premiere of his hit singing competition reality show The Voice which aired on Monday, Sept. 23. The Maroon 5 frontman did not respond to Gaga's tweet until the morning after the series premiere. It was apparent that he was referring to Gaga without mentioning her name.
"by the way, I'm NOT an artist. i sing in a band and i make music with my friends," he wrote and followed it up with, "Me thinks thou dost protest too much...yikes!!!"
He ended the Twitter feud (for now) with: "while we're at it we should call the grammar police."
Levine is not the only personality in entertainment she has been feuding with on Twitter. Last month, she claimed her former BF, blogger Perez Hilton was "stalking" when he went to look at apartments in her New York City building.
He fired back by posting photos of the singer topless on Twitter and included a link to a recent interview she gave to The Guardian. She admitted that she is aware that her celebrity is dwindling.
Last month, after she asked her fans to wear seashells and starfish to her upcoming London concert on Twitter, rapper Azaliea Banks replied with the following comment on her Twitter account: "@ladygaga hmmmm sounds a lot like Azealia Banks' mermaid balls."
She also wrote, "Of COURSE gaga wants to play mermaid again..... Pffft. Not picking a fight. Just all looks soo familiar.... To me" and concluded with, "It's just...Late."
