The Killlers 'Shot at Night' VIDEO Featuring Max Minghella and Bella Heathcote as Lovers in Las Vegas
The video for Shot at Night by The Killers was released on Sept. 27, and it features Max Minghella (The Social Network) and Bella Heathcote (Dark Shadows).
The video is set in Las Vegas and Minghella and Heathcote play lovers. This one's straight out of a Hollywood-styled fairytale, Heathcote is a housekeeper at a hotel and Mighella is a big star who is living in that hotel. They first encounter each other when she accidentally hits Minghella with her car on a crosswalk. Then they serendipitously meet again, as Heathcote goes to service Minghella's room in the hotel. Minghella and his friends convince her to come out for a night on the town, and then the sparks fly against the dazzling backdrop of Vegas.
Shot at Night is one of two new songs which will feature on the band's upcoming best-of compilation, Direct Hits. The second song is Just Another Girl, has been produced by Stuart Price.
The collection will feature 15 songs, 13 of which will be culled form the band's back catalogue. Songs like Mr. Brightside, When You Were Young, Somebody Told Me, For Reasons Unknown, and Human have made it on the album.
Shot at Night was produced by M83's Max Gonzhalez. "He's one of these new-school producers," frontman Brandon Flowers told NME. "He's a technical wizard, but you can't discount his musicality. A lot of people do, because of the involvement of computers, but he's a real musician, too. He and Stuart Price may be known for working on the digital side of things, but they're also two of the most musical guys I've ever met."
Flowers also spoke to the publication about what motivated the band to come out with a best-of compilation at this point in its career:
"This record feels like a great way to clean everything up and move onto the next thing." He also said that the prospect of writing new songs for the record "sort of thew me for a curveball. I'm always writing, it's like second nature to me now, but I'm always analysing what I've got, and doubts can start creeping into your head. But I'm really happy with the songs we've got to add to the list."
The album will release on Nov. 11.
