Recent photos of the filming of Will Smith and Jay Z's Annie remake have surfaced on Twitter.

Fans have been posting pictures from the sets of Annie from different locations in New York like Dumbo, Brooklyn and the Lower East Side. Jamie Foxx is seen in most of these pictures -- and he even obliged to pose with fans.

In other pictures Quvenzhané Wallis is seen riding a Citibike. The filming took place on the streets and at a high school in the Lower East Side. A fan even posted an image saying that the crew was shooting at his old high school.

The remake is being produced by Smith and Jay Z and stars Foxx as Benjamin Stacks (Daddy Warbucks in the original) and Wallis as Annie. Cameron Diaz will be playing the role of the mean Miss Hannigan who runs Annie's orphanage. Sandra Bullock was initially being considered for the role, but she backed out.

Wallis is best known for playing Hushpuppy, the lead role in Beasts of the Southern Wild. The 10-year-old actor replaced Smith's daughter, Willow, who was also being considered for the role when the project was in the early stages of development.

Bobby Cannavale (Blue Jasmine, The Big Knife) will be playing the role of a political adviser to Stacks, and Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje has been cast as Nash, Stacks' driver.

The most recent addition to the cast of the film is David Zayas (Dexter, Oz), who will portray Lou, a local bodega owner who has a crush on Miss Hannigan.

Will Gluck (Friends with Benefits, Easy A) is directing the film, which was adapted from John Huston's screenplay by Oscar-winning screenwriter and actress Emma Thompson and Aline Brosh McKenna.
