Amber Heard may be praised for her looks by many, but the actress doesn't want to take movie roles solely based on her beauty.
"People want to put me in a wedding dress and make me the object of affection, but I'd much rather shoot the gun and save the world," she told Elle magazine in its September 2013 issue. "I've always fought against what was expected of me as much as I could."

The 27-year-old also doesn't want her personal life affecting her career.
Heard has been romantically tied to Johnny Depp, her Rum Diary co-star, since his split from longtime partner Vanessa Paradis in 2012. The actors have been photographed on several occasions together, including having dinner with Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards in May. Despite being in a high-profile relationship, she's made it clear that her work is of great importance to her and she doesn't want her love life to overshadow it.

"It's not part of my professional life. I want to be an artist. I don't want to be a celebrity," she told Flare about that aspect of her life, in its September 2013 issue. "You can find pictures of me [on the Internet] pumping gas, picking up dry cleaning, walking my dog, but nowhere are you going to find pictures of me hanging around at some nightclub."
